January Table Runner
Posted Saturday, January 30th, 2010 in My Projects, Quilting | Tags:
Jennifer and I found a pattern with twelve table runners when we were shopping at the Red Rooster quilt shop in Dublin, OH. We are challenging ourselves and each other to make each of the runners this year. I have been working on the snowman runner for January. I used the suggested colors in the pattern. Jennifer plans to use her own color selection. I did change the number of snowflakes in the border. The pattern called for a snowflake in each border square. I put them only in the squares with plain fabric. This is my unfinished version. I have fused the appliques to the top but haven’t stitched them to the background at this time. I plan to use the blanket stitch on my Viking sewing machine.

It turned out to be incredibly cute!
I love how it looks with less snowflakes, the pattern’s number of snowflakes around the border made it look too busy and detracted from the cute snowmen.
Awesome job, Mom! Hope mine will look as cute!
