TOR May Birthday Block

The May block request for “The Other Room” block exchange was a gingerbread man or gingerbread woman. I was puzzled with this request. I searched for a gingerbread block and could only find a pieced block that I didn’t care for and an appliqued gingerbread man. I started the appliqued block and was not satisfied with the way it was developing. I then went to my collection of machine embroidery designs and found a design with an appliqued and embroidered gingerbread man. There were several versions available. These are the two I made.

Don’t you just love the expression on the face of the second block?
