Three projects from one Layer Cake
Posted Monday, March 14th, 2011 in Layer Cake, Quilting | Tags: , Lil' Twister, Moda Layer Cake, Twister
I made a large Twister quilt, Lil’ Twister quilt, and a mini quilt from one layer cake. When I finished cutting out the Lil’ Twister quilt, I had small squares left between the blocks. When I squared them up, I had 1 3/4 inch squares. I sewed them together in the same order as the Twister quilts and added a plain green 3/4 inch border and then a 1 1/4 inch border of print fabric.
I have shown the first two quilts in previous posts. Here they are with the Mini Quilt.
Large Twister: 65″ square
Lil’ Twister: 25 1/2 ” square
Mini Quilt: 11 1/2″ square
Close up of Mini Quilt:
I have had fun using every bit of fabric from the Layer Cake.

Thank you so much for sharing how you used up all the fabric. I bought the medium size twister tool but haven’t used it because I just didn’t want to waste the fabric. Now I am going to go buy a layer cake and start.
